I painted this after lying awake all night during a storm, thinking what I would do if the windows blew in.
I studied literature and writing has always been part of my practice. I use words as a means of understanding and interpreting the world around me. Sometimes I dig and gouge words into wet paint when I paint. These fragments of recorded thoughts sometimes become part of the finished painting. Other times, they are partially or fully buried beneath further layers of paint.
