After a hot summer’s day, the heat of the land and the cooling night air created a low lying sea fog. Normally fogs cling to the top of the mountain. This fog was different. It lay low in a circular ring all around me as far as I could see, at the bottom of the mountains and all along the horizon line of the sea. It seemed to contain mysterious powers, it’s dark depths glowing amber with the concealed hidden fires of refracted sunset.
